Why a site focused on Miscarriage, Infertility and Adoption?
Maybe the question better asked is "Why Not"? As a couple, we have experienced each of these over the course of our adult married lives. Ironically, we have learned that many others have gone through some (or all) of the same struggles in their own lives as well.
MIA - most commonly connected to military members considered "Missing In Action" was chosen intentionally. You see, those dealing with a miscarriage or infertility or in the adoption processs can feel like they are missing in action and all alone. Many times, those around them "just don't get it". We know that feeling firsthand and we hope to help others from having to experience similar.
Something we've realized through all the difficulties we've experienced and worked through - loss and infertility seem to be "taboo" in society and perceptions of adoption greatly vary as well. Why is that?
